2.03 Sketch

Here is my take on Sketchy Thursday for February 3rd. When I saw the sketch, it took me a while on how am I going to interpret the sketch. First, I don't know what pictures to use (how sad?! hahaha) although I considered using my wedding pictures. Second, theme? since it is the month of love, I decided that my theme would have to do with love/valentine. Light bulb moment!!! I thought out of the box, and reversed the order but still following the given sketch. Instead of putting photos to the allotted location, I put embellishments instead, and as a replacement for title area, I put the picture. Enjoy!

Materials:
Heidi Grace Maple Crest Ct Paper; Maya Road Love mini chipboard, Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips; Tattered Angels Glimmer mist (walnut gold, vintage pink, red velvet, sunshine); Prima Got flowers? I joined the Candy Shoppe Designs BLOG HOP MEME!

The Candy Shoppe Designs is having a blog hop and it has a beautiful prize sponsored by The Paper Trail.

Fabulous prize

The design team of CSD were asked random fun questions to get to know each other and their followers. I had fun reading all of the DTs answers. Now, it is my turn.

1. FOUR random examples as to what makes me, me.

a. I don't like eating chocolate chip cookie (I know what is wrong with me?!). It still puzzles me although i eat cookie and chocolate, but put them together I don't eat it. I know I am weird!!!

b. I love color pink!

c. I love to food. I love to learn how to cook them especially my favorite food. Now, I am learning how to cook vegetables dishes I want my husband and I to eat healthy.

d. I am a follower of few reality shows like Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, Top Chef, & American Idol.

2. Did you marry your first true love?

Yes! I married my first true love. My first and only boyfriend,
Paschal, is now my husband. He is loving, thoughtful, and funny.
He always makes me laugh.

3. What is your guilty pleasure?

a. I scrap during break time and lunch time at work! HA! This is
my guilty pleasure. If I know I will not be busy at work, I
would bring scrapping stuff to work and scrap!

b. Blog surfing! I have to do it everyday especially all of my
favorite blogs.

c. I love listening to a Scrapbook podcast: RoundTable Paperclipping and The digi show.

4. Have you ever met a celebrity? If so, who?

I do consider Heidi Swapp as a celebrity and I met her on April of 2010! She taught a class here at my local scrapbook store. I was so star struck! She even talked to me while she was teaching! I will see her again in April because she will be teaching another at Scrapbook Island in San Jose, California. I can't wait!

5. Who is your celebrity crush and why!

When i was in high school, I had a huge crush on Dr. Doogie Howser! I arranged homework hours so that I could watch each episode. Then, ER came along & my crush was Dr. Parker. Then I stumbled on to this show Home Front and I met Kyle Chandler. I even prayed that he would be my husband someday hahahahaha! Kyle Chandler is on the show called Friday Night Lights on NBC, but I don't watch it.

Well, there you go! Come and join the Candy Shoppe Designs blog hop. You'll have fun!!!

First Project of the Year 2011

I would like to say that little by little my crafting "mojo" is coming back. I am grateful. For many months, I’ve gone and wondered why I can’t scrapbook or do anything crafty. I was in a state of “crafting coma”. There were many times that I would sit and stare at my papers, embellishments, ink, stamps thinking that I will make a layout, but I could not produce anything. Design ideas were in my head but putting this creative idea into a physical object was hard for me. Then, I would walk away. My theory is that since there were so many projects I want to do that I felt overwhelm. Now, I am happy because creativity is flowing again. When I was in a state of “crafting coma”, I looked for new inspiration and explored other venues in the world of “art”. I watched scrapbooking videos over and over again, and read scrapbook blog tutorials. Then, I discovered Mixed Media. For me, it is really cool! I was impressed with all the mixed media projects I saw on Youtube.

Now, I am presenting my first mixed media project. It took me forever to put my project together, but here it is. Conceptualizing my project took me awhile again because where to start was scary. All I know was that my concept is about a “name” and the “person” who it was named for. I wrote down the things that I wanted in my project, and I narrowed my concept to a minimum because with mixed media, the possibility is endless, and it can be pretty overwhelming. Enjoy!

My scrapbook colleague mentioned that I should enter my project at the Candy Shoppe Designs. The January Challenges have three options and I fall under the Art challenge.

Materials:

My Mind’s Eye Bohemia Embossed Alphabet chipboard, Maya Road chip board, jump rings, aluminum foil, brown & blue acrylic paint, Ruff ‘n Buff Gold Leaf, liquid glue, dictionary paper, Graphic 45 Renaissance Fair Collection, brad, door hinge, acrylic squares, stamp, Ranger glossy accent & distress ink, Making Memories alphabet sticker, Tim Holtz Metal Gears, fabric paper, Zing metallic copper embossing powder, Inkadinkadoo Chandeliers stamp

Sketch 217

Hi all! It's really great to scrapbook again. I was super busy the last few days! Whew! At the same time, I am behind at Scrapbook Challenges, but I do hope to catch up :) This is my sketch 217. I used Webster's Pages products and I crocheted a scalloped trim.

Background paper was cut using the Spellbinder Nestabilities, and I stamped it with Stampin' Up script stamp. The medallion below is from designersdigital.com with Making Memories circle tag maker rim. For added dimension, I used Glossy Accent by Ranger.

This label is one of the fabric fancies by WP. I used Making Memories oval tag maker trim to compliment the sketch. Enjoy!

Sketch 215

When I used a photo strip on another layout, I decided to do another one but with my pictures. These photo were taken when we were riding out to attend a house blessing. I have my camera so I started to take several shots of us. When I saw sketch 215, I had to use my photo strip.
